1995, Acrylic on Canvas, 21.5" x 30"This image is of our beloved dog Jackie's last moments. A moment so poignant I couldn't keep from painting it and still have a hard time showing it to anyone. I think it's revealing that in starting to work on this emotion-charged scene I began with a scribble to develop Jackie's body. I usually work with a contour drawing approach and I have a lot of confidence in my line, but I was on unsure ground with this one.
